California Capitol Evacuated Over Threat
California’s state Capitol was evacuated after construction crews reported a threat in the west wing; authorities are currently sweeping the building, and officials have indicated there is no immediate reason to believe the threat is credible. The evacuation affected construction workers and site personnel, while legislative offices and nearby buildings were not impacted. The California Highway Patrol is assessing the situation as the legislature remains in recess.
