Book suggests Hebrew punctuation is colonial relic
The article discusses the controversy surrounding a review of a book that links Hebrew punctuation to colonialism and Jewish migration to Israel. The book's author claims that punctuation marks in Hebrew reflect a history of oppression and contribute to a sense of unity among Jews, which has implications for Israeli identity. Critics, including commentators and Jewish organizations, have condemned the book's arguments as antisemitic and pseudoscientific, with some calling for increased awareness of rising antisemitism and its influence on discourse about Israel.
