Trump appears to be using taxpayer funds to sway voters
Donald Trump is actively using government-funded advertisements and direct payments to promote himself and influence voter behavior ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. He has promised $5,000 checks to voters as a way to secure electoral gains for Republicans, despite the controversial nature and skepticism around the payments’ authenticity and legality. These efforts include distributing payments to Obamacare recipients and seniors, raising questions about the blending of official government resources with campaign activity. Critics view such actions as attempts to sway voters through perceived incentives, undermining transparency in the political process.
