California couple in surrogacy abuse case
A California couple involved in a surrogacy operation was arrested after investigators uncovered widespread child abuse at their home. The couple, who had established a surrogacy business and fostered multiple children, allegedly subjected children as young as two months old to physical punishment, including spanking and hitting, with incidents secretly recorded by cameras. The investigation was prompted by a head injury to a baby, leading to the discovery of the abuse, and the couple is charged with conspiracy to commit child abuse and related offenses.
