GOP urges Senate to end daylight saving
The House has passed the Sunshine Protection Act to make daylight saving time permanent, with support from former President Trump. However, the legislation is stalled in the Senate, where there is no clear path forward, partly due to disagreements among lawmakers. President Trump has publicly urged the Senate to pass the bill, criticizing the twice-annual clock changes for their negative effects. There is ongoing debate over whether to prioritize consistent daylight hours or address concerns about dark winter mornings, especially for children.
