Mexican Mafia suspects face charges in LA business extortion
Six individuals were arrested for extorting a business owner in Pomona and allegedly arranging a shooting targeting a man owed money to gang affiliates of the Mexican Mafia. The FBI accuses Jose “Humble” Argumedo, a member of Highland Park’s Avenues gang, of threatening the business owner, taking valuables, and being involved in a subsequent shooting attempt. Argumedo, who has prior convictions, and others are charged with conspiracy to commit extortion, murder, and related crimes amid ongoing efforts to combat Mexican Mafia influence in Pomona.
