Divers discover ancient treasures related to Roman figure impacting American history
A 2,100-year-old shipwreck off Turkey's coast has yielded thousands of luxury ceramic dishes linked to ancient Roman trade, believed to have originated from Rhosus, a production center mentioned by Cicero. The wreck includes high-end tableware used for nuts, soup, and fish, and is remarkably well-preserved due to clay packing and wooden crates. The discovery offers a rare connection between archaeological artifacts, historical writings, and ancient trade, highlighting the ship's journey from Rhosus to Rome before sinking in a storm.
