Mattel adds water parks to boost Barbie sales
Mattel is shifting focus from toy sales to creating immersive entertainment experiences, including water parks, to boost revenue. The company plans to open its first Wonder Indoor Waterpark in Nebraska by 2027, featuring attractions themed around Barbie and Hot Wheels, with additional parks planned in other states. This strategy aims to reduce reliance on declining Barbie sales amid mixed financial performance and recent leadership changes.
