Suffolk officer retains job after Taser use
A Suffolk police officer was allowed to keep his job after using the butt of a Taser to strike a suspect during an arrest, despite being found guilty of gross misconduct. The incident occurred during a confrontation involving a man armed with a metal pole, where the officer applied the Taser three times and kicked the suspect. An independent investigation concluded his actions were unnecessary and disproportionate, resulting in a five-year final written warning that will remain on his employment record.
