Comedians oppose SiriusXM over royalty cuts
SiriusXM’s rebranding of its comedy channel, Raw Dog Comedy, has led to criticism from comedians and industry advocates. The channel’s roster decreased by 66%, removing many performers’ airplay and royalty income, particularly affecting emerging and middle-class comedians. Despite SiriusXM attributing the change to underperformance before Sebastian Maniscalco’s new channel launch, critics argue it harms the diversity and sustainability of the comedy industry.
