Expedition aims to locate Earhart's plane
A research team from the Archaeological Legacy Institute and Purdue University is traveling to Nikumaroro Island to investigate a suspected wreckage that could be Amelia Earhart's plane. They aim to find the "Taraia Object," thought to be related to Earhart's missing aircraft, which disappeared in 1937 during a flight in the Pacific Ocean. The team departed from Kiribati and plans to arrive at the island by Monday to conduct their search, which has historically faced skepticism and previous unsuccessful attempts.
