Inside LA's Homeless Crisis as GOP Criticizes Dems
The article reports on Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton's tour of Los Angeles' Skid Row, where he criticized California's leadership for failing to address the state's homelessness crisis despite billions in taxpayer spending. Hilton accused Democratic officials and affiliated nonprofits of enabling ongoing decay, drug abuse, and crime through ineffective policies and financial cronyism. He advocated for law enforcement to remove encampments and emphasized enforcement of existing laws as a solution. The visit also included interactions with homeless individuals, some of whom expressed ongoing drug use or desire for treatment, amid broader criticism of local government efforts.
