French supermarkets face major cyberattack
A cyber attack has compromised refrigeration systems across numerous French supermarkets, causing fridges and freezers to heat up and spoil food worth millions of euros. Over 100 Coopérative U stores and at least 300 from Intermarché and its Netto brand were affected, with some units reaching temperatures of 50°C and resulting in significant food waste. The incident is under investigation by French authorities, and officials have condemned the attack as a serious threat to food security.
