Accused Chinese spy Wanying Zhang's California real estate dealings
Wanying Zhang, a California real estate agent, was arrested at Los Angeles airport for allegedly spying for China, working with Chinese handlers to surveil the son of Taiwan’s president. She and her husband, both real estate agents, amassed a property portfolio worth approximately $11 million and earned nearly $16 million from home sales, raising questions about the source of her wealth. Prosecutors also allege she lied about her assets and had access to secret Chinese cryptocurrency accounts, while her activities are under investigation for possible espionage connection.
