Increase in paid companionship amid loneliness in China
The article discusses the rise of a "loneliness industry" in China, where services such as home visits, companionship, and emotional support are provided to address social isolation, especially among the elderly. These services, offered at lower costs than traditional care, aim to offer human connection and support daily needs, helping seniors remain in their homes.
