Rare banknotes donated sell for over £85,000
A collection of rare banknotes donated to an Edinburgh charity shop sold for over £85,000 at auction, supporting the British Heart Foundation’s research into heart and circulatory diseases. The collection included unusual and historically significant notes from around the world, such as a rare Queen Elizabeth II portrait, Iraqi 10 dinars, and a Saudi Arabia specimen note. The auction, conducted by Noonans, raised funds with the vendor’s commission waived, and the charity expressed gratitude for the donation’s impact.
