Santa Ana winds cause park closures
Due to a red-flag fire weather warning, several parks in the Santa Monica Mountains, including the Backbone Trail, will be temporarily closed from Thursday to Saturday. The closures are part of coordinated efforts by multiple agencies to reduce the risk of wildfires during the season's first Santa Ana winds, which heighten fire danger. Visitors are advised to check current conditions before traveling, as some areas may remain open without signage.
