California business directory excludes White men
California's new "Made in California" website allows users to search for local businesses based on ownership categories such as Asian, Black, Hispanic, LGBTQ, veteran, and woman-owned. It does not include filters for White-owned or male-owned businesses, prompting criticism that it excludes White men. Officials say the program aims to promote products manufactured in the state, but critics argue it emphasizes identity-based distinctions.
