Arcadia surrogacy mom fled U.S. authorities
Guojun Xuan and Silvia Zhang are charged with allowing and directing child abuse at their Arcadia mansion, where over a dozen surrogate-born children were kept in conditions of neglect and violence. Prosecutors allege the children were confined, rarely allowed outside, and subjected to constant physical abuse by nannies and possibly by the couple themselves. The couple has pleaded not guilty, and bail was set at $20 million amid accusations of extreme wealth and flight risk.
