Top 7 Teams Lose in College Football First Since 1989
College football experienced unprecedented chaos with five of the top seven teams losing on the same day in the regular season for the first time in history. Notably, No. 1 Georgia was upset by unranked Auburn, ending its winning streak against unranked teams, while No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 4 Ohio State, and others suffered defeats that shook up the rankings and playoff outlooks. The results cleared the way for No. 3 Miami to take the top spot after a double-overtime victory over Florida State. The losses highlighted the unpredictability of the current season and the SEC's vulnerability, with several teams falling as heavy favorites.
