L.A. mayor faces transit issues with LAX mover
The article focuses on delays and cost overruns in the Skylink people mover train project at Los Angeles International Airport, which is now not expected to operate until 2027, well past its original completion date. The project, designed to improve connectivity between terminals and ground transportation, has faced technical issues, legal disputes, and increased costs, becoming a contentious issue in the Los Angeles mayoral race. Candidates Karen Bass and Nithya Raman differ in their approaches, with the project highlighting broader challenges in LA’s transit and infrastructure development ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games.
