Los Angeles’ historic Cole’s French Dip restaurant, closed in March after 118 years, is set for a revival with new ownership, a revamped menu, and an upgraded dining experience. Scheduled to potentially reopen by November, the restaurant aims to blend its old-school charm with a more refined ambiance, offering French fare alongside its signature French dip sandwich. The renovation includes modern decor elements while retaining iconic features like a plaque referencing Charles Bukowski. The comeback responds to downtown LA’s challenging restaurant scene, with new owners emphasizing a mix of nostalgia and luxury to sustain the beloved institution.
