Mother protests daughter's wheelchair loss
A mother has criticized the decision by Mersey Care NHS Trust to stop providing a wheelchair for her autistic daughter, who has used one for over five years. The trust stated they are reviewing individual cases and no longer consider the daughter eligible, as she no longer needs it indoors. The mother argued the wheelchair is essential for her daughter’s safety in crowded and outdoor environments, but the trust indicated their policies have changed, affecting hundreds of families.
