Ramaswamy funds ad featuring Amy Acton’s mother
Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign produced a controversial ad featuring the estranged mother of Democratic candidate Amy Acton, which will be promoted with $4 million despite bipartisan criticism. The ad references Acton’s traumatic childhood, including allegations against her stepfather, and has faced condemnation for exploiting personal and sensitive issues during the closely contested Ohio governor’s race. The campaign has not confirmed whether Ramaswamy was responsible for the ad, which has drawn widespread criticism from both sides of the political spectrum.
