California prepares for disruption as DMV and state workers strike
Tens of thousands of California state workers participated in a one-day strike affecting government services, including the DMV, due to unresolved disputes over wages, benefits, and remote work policies. The strike, organized by SEIU Local 1000, involved 96.2% of voting members and is the first major strike by this union since 2016. Negotiations between the union and the state are scheduled to resume, but service delays are expected at various government offices across California.
