Wicker Review: Unique and Wooden
The article reviews the film "Wicker," which features Alexander Skarsgård and Olivia Colman in a story about lust, jealousy, and societal hypocrisy set in a loosely medieval village. The film tells a provocative folktale about a wicker man created as a husband for a lonely fisherwoman, exploring themes of societal pressure and moral hypocrisy through symbolic rituals and character dynamics. While emphasizing visual storytelling and dark humor, the movie also focuses on how love and kindness impact the main character, though some emotional moments are less developed.
