AP's USC Overreaction

The Week 9 AP Top 25 placed Miami first, followed by Georgia, Utah, Notre Dame and UCLA, though the article argued UCLA had a stronger case than Utah or Notre Dame. Wake Forest remained No. 14 despite improving to 7-1 with a 51-7 win over Virginia, while USC rose 13 spots to No. 18 after beating Ohio State without its starting quarterback. New Mexico, also 7-1, ranked No. 22.
