Nine Men Face Trial
Nine men went on trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, accused of participating in or facilitating the sexual abuse of a woman whose husband drugged and assaulted her for more than 20 years. Prosecutors allege he shared images online and, from 2023, invited men to rape or sexually abuse her while she was unconscious; the nine deny the charges, while the husband has pleaded guilty to multiple offenses. The abuse came to light after undercover journalists identified the husband in an online group, and police found more than a million photos and videos on his phone.
