TV Host Arrested by ICE

Former Mexican television host Inés Gómez Mont is being held at Florida’s Broward Transitional Center after ICE arrested her in Miami last month over an immigration violation. Mexican prosecutors accuse her and her husband, attorney Víctor Manuel Álvarez Puga, of running a shell-company network tied to about $160 million in government contracts, and Mexico is seeking her extradition. A federal judge rejected her emergency request to block a transfer from South Florida while her legal team challenges her detention.
