Union Boss Gets a Raise

The Illinois Federation of Teachers’ executive board approved a reported annual pay increase for President Stacy Davis Gates from $180,000 to $250,000. The raise drew criticism from the Illinois Policy Institute as Illinois schools face concerns over reading proficiency; neither Davis Gates nor the unions responded to requests for comment.
