Martin McDonagh’s “Wild Horse Nine,” set in Chile shortly before the 1973 coup, follows CIA agents Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) as Chris, who is dying, asks Lee to kill him on Rapa Nui. The review praises Malkovich’s performance and the pair’s chemistry, but says the film meanders and its dialogue lacks McDonagh’s usual sharpness. Malkovich won best actor at the Venice Film Festival.
