Cruz says Texas went blue
Sen. Ted Cruz said Republicans’ 2026 midterm losses amounted to a “blue tsunami,” with Democrats winning every statewide race in Texas, including James Talarico’s Senate victory. He blamed the defeats on voters’ cost-of-living concerns, tariffs and the war with Iran, and said Republicans had lost support among several groups, including blue-collar and Hispanic voters. Cruz congratulated Talarico and said he was willing to work with him, while predicting Republicans would regain ground in Texas.
