Global Arts Live is opening the Platform, a 45,000-square-foot performing arts center in Kendall Square, Cambridge, giving the nonprofit its first permanent home. The facility has a 125-seat Tempo Stage and a 404-seat Takeda Theater, expanding its capacity to present performances and address a shortage of mid-size venues. A free opening event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6, and the center will also offer local arts groups 25 rent-free nights each year.
