Ferguson Moves to Man U
Alex Ferguson left Aberdeen for Manchester United on 6 November 1986, ending an eight-year spell in which he led the Dons to three league titles and European trophies. BBC broadcaster Roddy Forsyth broke the story after finding Ferguson and United chairman Martin Edwards at an Aberdeen airport hotel; fans and club figures reacted with shock and disappointment. Ferguson went on to win 38 trophies during his 26 years at Old Trafford.
