Hero to Fix Troop Life
Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, a senior adviser to the Pentagon’s Barracks Task Force, says he has found mold, water damage, broken air conditioning and lack of hot water at military installations during a review of barracks conditions. After visiting more than eight installations across the services, Meyer says he is tasked by War Secretary Pete Hegseth with fixing problems rooted in years of neglect, not merely documenting them. He says bureaucracy, deferred maintenance and funding constraints have slowed repairs, and wants the task force to direct funding and accelerate improvements.
