The article discusses the New York Film Festival's initiative to document spontaneous encounters between filmmakers and audiences during its events through the production of short films within the festival. The announcement of the short documentary "South of Tehran" by Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho highlights this approach, as it captures his meetings with Iranian director Jafar Panahi on the streets of New York. This initiative serves as a commemorative celebration of a practical artistic effort to transform cinematic encounters into a living archive that preserves moments of creativity and connection between filmmakers and audiences.
