UEFA reviews Infantino's 16-year tenure
The article reveals ongoing investigations within the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) regarding Gianni Infantino's conduct, the President of the International Federation (FIFA), over a 16-year period. The investigations follow claims that a former employee received a large sum of money after having a relationship with him during his tenure at UEFA. Reports indicate that the employee was promoted rapidly and saw her salary increase by 30%, with inquiries into how a financial settlement was reached, as well as support for her studies after she left the organization. FIFA denies the allegations, affirming that all procedures were carried out in accordance with regulations. The case comes at a time of growing disagreements between Infantino and UEFA, particularly over the World Cup funding plan, which has caused divisions across Europe. Meanwhile, Infantino aspires to secure a fourth term as FIFA president in March 2024.
