German ambassador aims for billion-dollar trade with Bahrain

The German ambassador to Bahrain, Hennings Georg Simon, stated that relations between Germany and Bahrain are heading towards strengthening cooperation in the fields of investment, technology, aviation, and logistics services, with the goal of reaching a trade exchange worth nearly one billion dollars in the near future—after reaching around half a billion dollars during the first six months of the year. The meeting also discussed opportunities for collaboration with Gulf countries, especially in clean energy and hydrogen projects, as well as expanding partnerships in logistics, aviation, and manufacturing sectors, with a focus on investing in German technology and expertise to support Bahrain’s digital transformation. The ambassador also addressed enhancing cultural and educational relations with the Bahraini people, emphasizing the importance of fostering connections between the two countries to achieve common interests and sustainable development.
