Director Khaled Youssef revealed that the version of "El Reis Omar Harb" shown in cinemas differs significantly from the television version. The cinematic version contains more bold scenes, due to the film's focus on themes such as power, revolution, and sex, which justify the increased number of daring scenes in the theatrical release. He also indicated that these edits were made after he obtained the necessary licensing without any issues from the authorities, and that the film was reviewed and approved with ease compared to his previous works.
