Abu Dhabi launched the first of the "Union Rail" trains, which connect the emirate to Fujairah via a national railway network. This is part of an expansion plan that includes Dubai, Al Dhaid, Al Dhafra, and Sharjah by 2027. The journey between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah takes approximately 105 minutes at speeds reaching up to 200 kilometers per hour. The service can accommodate up to 400 passengers per trip, with an expected annual ridership of around 10 million once the network is fully operational. The service offers two travel classes, with amenities such as free Wi-Fi, premium seating options, and fares starting from 55 dirhams. This project represents a strategic investment supporting economic diversification and sustainable development in the UAE.
