Al-Ifta's ruling on cousin's granddaughter marriage
Dar Al-Iftaa confirmed that combining marriage between a woman and the granddaughter of her maternal uncle is permissible Islamically. This is in accordance with the Islamic principle that permits similar cases when the hypothetical relationship between the two parties, such as the relationship of a cousin's daughter, is not prohibited by Sharia. Dr. Hind Hammam explained that this ruling depends on the possibility of a hypothetical marriage between them, provided that the relationship is permissible and no Islamic prohibitions prevent the connection between them.
