The Asyut Criminal Court upheld the sentence of three years in prison against an employee accused of forgery in her ex-husband's salary details using counterfeit documents, after she was absent from the re-trial session. The court had previously issued a default judgment in May, which was confirmed upon appeal, with the sentence for her two daughters reduced to one year, suspended. The incident stems from family disputes between the employee and her ex-husband, during which the defendant used forged documents to inflate the amount of alimony claimed in the lawsuit.
