Making crispy butterfly shrimp at home
Crispy Butterfly Shrimp is a popular seafood dish characterized by a crunchy golden exterior and a tender interior. It is prepared at home using simple ingredients. The recipe involves cleaning the shrimp, cutting them open to form a butterfly shape, and seasoning them with a mixture of garlic, lemon, and spices such as cumin, paprika, and black pepper, then allowing them to absorb the flavors. Next, the shrimp are coated with flour, dipped in a mixture of egg and milk, and then breaded with breadcrumbs or panko before frying in hot oil until they turn golden brown and develop a crispy crust while remaining tender inside. It is served hot with lemon slices and parsley, ideally accompanied by favorite sauces, rice, or salads, ensuring they are cooked thoroughly to stay soft yet crispy without losing their texture.
