Mohammed bin Khaled's daughter launches Arabic initiative
Sheikhah Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan launched the "Arabic in the Waiting Space" initiative during the Frankfurt International Book Fair 2026. The aim is to strengthen the presence of the Arabic language in public spaces outside the UAE and to promote Emirati culture. The initiative seeks to turn waiting moments in hospitals, museums, and tourist facilities into educational opportunities by providing reading materials translated into major international languages, especially English. It relies on offering magazines, concise books, children's stories, and brochures about UAE heritage, with the goal of fostering cultural and humanitarian understanding that enhances the UAE's global presence. Additionally, the initiative aims to build partnerships with cultural, tourism, and diplomatic entities to expand reach and encourage audience engagement.
