Taim Hassan clarified that the circulating video, which makes it seem as though Wafaa al-Kilani is asking him to marry her, was taken out of context. In the 2014 interview, she was married and was asking him hypothetically how he would respond if a woman said to him, “Taim, I want to marry you.” He added that the joking exchange had been misunderstood, apologized to Wafaa for his difficult temperament, and affirmed how deeply he loves her. The two married in May 2017.
