Elissa revealed that her new album, *Elissar*, set for release on November 5, came after a period of challenges and difficulties. Producing it independently brought her to what she described as a stage of “liberation.” She said she refuses to let trends and numbers dictate her choices, viewing music as a means of expression rather than a race. The album, the fourteenth of her career, features 14 songs in Egyptian, Lebanese and Gulf dialects, including “Riyadh Winter,” which marks her first time performing in a Gulf dialect. It also reunites her with lyricist Mohamed Refai after 19 years and includes works with Marwan Khoury, Tamer Ashour and Aziz El Shafei, as well as a melody by the late Mohamed Rahim.
