Egypt health minister unveils midwifery program
Egyptian Minister of Health, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, launched the national midwifery program in Egypt, aiming to improve maternal and child health services as part of the presidential initiative "The Golden Hundred Days for Family Development." The program seeks to enhance the quality of care before, during, and after pregnancy, focusing on reducing maternal and neonatal mortality rates by expanding and supporting midwifery services within an integrated healthcare system, along with training programs and digital transformation. This effort is part of Egypt’s broader goal to reduce the maternal mortality rate to 35 per 100,000 live births by 2030.
