Idris Elba as potential Bond candidate
Star actor Idris Elba has expressed surprise at being considered for the role of James Bond. He rejected the idea that the character should change to include social issues or be adapted to global tastes, emphasizing that maintaining the essence of the character depends solely on cinematic enjoyment. This comes as the James Bond film series prepares to test candidates for a new actor to replace Daniel Craig, with official auditions underway for the production of the upcoming installment, which is scheduled to be filmed at the end of 2026.
