Judge Hidalgo receives praise after match
Judge Lina Hidalgo, responsible for Harris County in Texas, faced strong criticism for attending a 2026 World Cup match between Colombia and Portugal in Miami. Critics considered her irresponsible for using work hours to watch entertainment events and for wearing the colors of both teams simultaneously. Despite defending her right to attend match tickets and overseeing donations for children, her attendance also sparked discontent due to past disagreements with local events. Nevertheless, she received support from some members of the public who saw her actions as humanitarian initiatives.
