Country with Most Volcanoes
The United States has the largest number of volcanoes in the world, with 165 volcanoes that have erupted over the past 12,000 years, surpassing Japan, Russia, and Indonesia. This is due to its geographical location on the "Ring of Fire" in the Pacific Ocean and hot spots, especially in Alaska and the West Coast, which contribute to the country's significant volcanic activity. Some of its most famous eruptions include Mount St. Helens in 1980 and the Katmai volcanoes in 1912. Additionally, Kilauea in Hawaii is considered an independent volcano situated above a hot spot and is not part of the "Ring of Fire."
